Development and demonstration of customized air quality improvement devices for local railway vehicles in Taiwan.
○ (Main purpose) Globally, To effectively remove fine dust present inside urban railway vehicles , it is required to utilize ventilation through the introduction of outside air or to employ separate devices for the removal of particulate pollutants, thereby eliminating contaminants accumulated inside the passenger cabin. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, issues regarding indoor air quality have also emerged in overseas countries, including Europe and ASEAN regions, which previously had little interest in air quality within railway vehicles. Currently, there are no examples of air quality improvement technologies being applied to railway vehicles in operation abroad, creating a significant opportunity for substantial market entry achievements in international markets. ○ (Main Research) The lead organization, Anytech Co., Ltd., along with the Korea Railroad Research Institute, has successfully commercialized domestic technology through a project funded by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, achieving a TRL-9 level of technological capability for the targeted technology. In Taiwan, there is interest in applying air quality improvement devices to railway vehicles, leading to the promotion of the international cooperation project titled "Demonstration and Commercialization of Air Quality Improvement and Reduction of Infectious Contaminants in Overseas Railway Vehicles." ○ (Key Deliverables) The key deliverable is a product that can improve air quality by removing fine dust and infectious contaminants within railway vehicles. The air quality improvement device for railway vehicles is designed to be applied in 2 to 4 units per railway car, while simultaneously systematizing a solution for integrated control that allows for the operation of the air quality improvement devices based on the air quality inside the cabin, which can be flexibly managed from the driver's cabin. |
