Purpose
To promote the development of domestic logistics technology and enhance technological competitiveness by inspiring technology developers (individuals or corporations) to develop logistics technology and by promoting the dissemination and utilization of developed logistics technology

Scope of Excellent New Logistics Technology Designation
New logistics technologies and advanced logistics facilities that are recognized for their excellent performance or quality, among those developed for the first time domestically or introduced from abroad and subsequently digested and improved
Designated Fields: Transportation, Storage, Cargo Handling, Packaging, Informatization, Standardization, Security/Safety, Others

| Cargo Handling | All technologies related to the development and direct operation of facilities and equipment for activities that move goods within a facility |
| Packaging | All technologies related to the development and direct operation of containers and equipment for packaging that considers the efficient transportation, storage, and handling of goods |
| Informatization | All technologies for establishing the information system of a logistics system |
| Standardization | Standardization technology for logistics systems and operations, etc. |
| Security/Safety | All security and safety technologies for supporting the operation of logistics systems |

Eligibility to Apply
- A person who developed the technology for the first time domestically, or who introduced foreign technology and subsequently digested and improved it (including successors thereto)
- A person who directly participated in the development of the technology
- The applicant must be the same person as the intellectual property right holder
- An individual business owner must apply under their individual name; applying under the name of the individual business is not permitted
- If a corporation is the intellectual property right holder, the application must be made under the corporation's name; applying under an individual's name is not permitted
- If an individual affiliated with a corporation is the intellectual property right holder, the application must be made under the individual's name; applying under the corporation's name is not permitted
- If the intellectual property right is jointly owned, a joint application must, in principle, be filed; however, if only some of the intellectual property right holders wish to apply, a letter of consent from the remaining right holders must be submitted
- A person who, when applying jointly with the owner of the intellectual property right, has presented materials that can confirm participation in the technology development
- In the case of an application to extend the protection period, the person named on the Certificate of Designation of Excellent New Logistics Technology, etc., or their successor
Protection Period
Initially 5 years, extendable once within a 5-year range (provided that an extension must be applied for by 150 days before the expiration of the protection period)
