○ An affordable smart displacement sensor (priced under $1,000) that offers high precision (1 mm accuracy) and wideband measurement capabilities (1-100 Hz) is being developed in the research project. The goal of the project is to commercialize the sensor in international markets to enhance the safety of small and medium-sized structures and prevent collapse. The scope of the project includes the development of  high-precision displacement sensor modules with both dynamic and static accuracy of 1 mm, and advanced wideband displacement measurement techniques. Also, the accuracy and performance of the sensor is verified through on-site experiments and compared with existing products, focusing on bridges, overpasses, residential areas, and parking lots in the U.S. and China. To ensure long-term durability and reliability, continous monitoring of local infrastructures is planned to be performed by the collaboration with local partners.
